The 3rd 5th Friday a Full Halloween Night of Art & Music

Local artists and musicians accumulate for a one-night celebration on the Slaton Square. The festive event involves Slaton galleries, municipality, businesses, several varied musical acts, along with great local food & beverage. 5th Friday Halloween Art and Music Exhibit will be held on Friday October 31, 2008 from 6:00pm to midnight.

The event is FREE and open to the public.


GALLERIES & EXHIBITS

WaterSpace north gallery (136 W. Garza St, Slaton, TX) exhibits Texas Tech University faculty, staff, graduate, undergraduate students, and community art in painting, sculpture, photography, and ceramics. Open 6:00pm - midnite


zane & tiffany's exhibits

WaterSpace south gallery (215 S. 9th St, Slaton, TX) includes Zane Carroll’s rodent and human interface mechanized art, titled “Rodent Interfaces”, and Tiffany Kennedy-Carroll’s Joan of Arc myth-based painting series “Robbing Joan Myth.” Open 6:00pm - midnite

 

Slaton City Hall (130 S. 9th St, Slaton, TX) features metal art by Charise Knudson, ceramics by Ted Adams, Kate Williams’ glasswork, and the paintings of Laura Lewis. Open 6:00pm - 9:00pm

 

The Slatonite Newspaper Office (139 S. 9th St, Slaton, TX) open for an exhibition of Wayne Greene's pottery and Yvonne Greene's mixed-media drawings.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

There will also be other worthwhile community activities around the Slaton Square.

5:00pm - A Children’s Costume Parade starts at the Slaton First United Methodist Church (305 W. Lubbock St, Slaton, TX)

5:30pm - Trunk or Treat at the Slaton ISD Administration Building (140 E Panhandle St, Slaton, TX).

6:00-7:30pm - Fall Festival will be held by First Baptist Church Slaton (255 S 9th St, Slaton, TX).

4:30-7:30pm - Chili Supper - The Railroad Heritage Association (a 501c3 supporting the Harvey House) will be having a Chili Supper fund raiser at the Harvey House (400 Railroad Ave, Slaton, TX). $7 for adults and $5 for children.

6:00-10:00pm - Slaton Model Railroad Studio Open House will exhibit temporary N and HO scale layouts. This club of model railroad enthusiasts will have a dispay showing the history, technology and artistry of model railroading.
